Intesa Sanpaolo is financing the Bologna-based GreenGO with €32.6 million for the construction of eight new photovoltaic plants in Calabria, Sicily and Marche.

The funding comes from the €8 billion ceiling that Intesa Sanpaolo is making available for the transition to the circular economy by supporting investments linked to the NRRP.

The new photovoltaic plants will generate total power of 41.8 MW, distributed as follows:

  • four plants in Calabria for a total of 22.8 MW
  • three plants in Sicily for a total of 13.7 MW
  • a plant in the Marche region for a total of 5.3 MW

Start-up is scheduled during the first half of 2025, and GreenGo estimates that the construction and operation of these plants will generate more than 500 jobs.

GreenGo is a Bologna-based energy operator specialising in the design and construction of large-scale renewable energy plants.
