Innovation: with SMACT Competence Centre for the digitisation of enterprises
In the meeting “NRRP and EDIH: Financing Research and Innovation with subsidies” organised by the SMACT Competence Centre in cooperation with Intesa Sanpaolo and T2i, companies were presented with financing opportunities to support their digital transition and research and innovation projects.
More specifically, the facilities offered by the NRRP and the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) programme - a central tool of the Digital Europe programme to improve business and production processes - were illustrated, together with the strategic support that Intesa Sanpaolo can offer companies to accompany them along the path of digital transition and sustainable growth.
During the meeting, the survey on the performance of 4.0 companies was also presented: starting from the financial statements for the period 2019-2022 of 230 companies, the Intesa Sanpaolo study compared the results of companies that had adopted 4.0 technologies with the others, highlighting the much better performance recorded by the former.
Research on 4.0 enterprise performance - highlights
The following is a summary of the results of the research conducted as part of the Intesa Sanpaolo-SMACT 4.0 Observatory, created from the collaboration between the Intesa Sanpaolo Research Department and the scientific committee involving researchers from universities in the North-East.
- Less impact of the pandemic: 4.0 companies experienced an 8% drop in turnover during 2019-2020, compared to a 10.8% drop for non-4.0 companies
- Better post-pandemic recovery: In the period 2019-2022, 4.0 companies recorded a turnover growth of +24.8%, higher than the +22.4% of non-4.0 companies
- Increased productivity: 4.0 companies achieved a productivity of €74,100 per employee, €14,000 more than non-digitised companies
- Production efficiency: The adoption of 4.0 technologies has improved the internal efficiency of companies, contributing to greater competitiveness, with turnover growth 5 percentage points higher than the others.
The drive for innovation is therefore a prerequisite for the growth and competitiveness of the Triveneto's economic fabric: companies are so aware of this that the introduction of new technology and machinery for partial replacement of labour, together with the opportunity to reduce energy consumption, are the driving factors that are pushing them to continue investing in 2024.
Collaboration with the SMACT Competence Centre
