Intesa Sanpaolo: focus on services dedicated to seniors and caregivers
The Intesa Sanpaolo Group devotes specific attention to the senior population, leveraging its bancassurance model to make available not only financial and insurance products but also social, health and welfare services dedicated to the elderly and their caregivers.
The service model offered - starting with the age limit raised to 90 - includes, for example:
- accumulation and decumulation solutions designed to address specific needs
- neighbourhood facilities such as "Spazioxnoi" to create a one-stop social and support point for senior citizens
- specific solutions for caregivers, who want to ensure care for their loved ones even if they are prevented from providing it themselves.
In light of the growth of the over-65 population in Italy - senior citizens now account for more than 23% of the total population and are expected to reach 35% in 2050 - and chronic illnesses, it is therefore increasingly important to build synergies between the public and private healthcare systems.
A survey conducted by the Intesa Sanpaolo Group on more than 2,000 senior citizens and their caregivers has revealed that health and inactivity are among their main concerns: they look for solutions close to them to maintain their well-being, sociality, with continuous cultural growth and assistance in coping with practical, technologically advanced life.
Digitisation and AI supporting the relationship with senior citizens
In the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, digitalisation and the use of artificial intelligence provide tools that help the branch manager to identify the customer's need for insurance cover, as well as to optimise operational efficiency and the monitoring and assessment of risks within the product factory.
In addition - particularly in the area of health - the use of data, in compliance with the regulations, makes it possible to provide tariffs that are better targeted to customers’ treatment needs and at the same time to manage cases of overtreatment that increase the company's costs without actually benefiting the customer-patient.
