Intesa Sanpaolo's Insurance Division rewards the four winning companies of the third edition of the Call "In Action Esg CLIMATE", awarding a total of €650,000 as concrete economic support for their innovative projects to accelerate the ecological transition.

In greater detail, the chosen start-ups are:

  • Sinergy Flow, first place. Awarded €250,000 for a project to store energy from renewable sources for longer periods than conventional systems, using flow cell technology and non-critical, cheap and recyclable materials, including sulphur
  • Novac, joint second place. Awarded €150,000 for the development of innovative materials for supercapacitors and lithium batteries, which can extend the life of batteries and reduce the environmental impact of their production and disposal
  • Phononic Vibes, joint second place. Awarded €150,000 for the 'Blu Vibes' project, which aims to reduce noise and vibrations caused by offshore wind turbines, thus safeguarding the marine ecosystem
  • Hiro Robotics, third place. Awarded €100,000 to evolve its automated disassembly technology for additional types of highly complex WEEE waste.

A total of 144 proposals were examined, and in the light of the quality of the projects submitted, the decision was made to increase the initially planned contribution - set at €500,000 - to €650,000.

"The insurance sector plays a key role in supporting businesses, both by protecting people, equipment and investments, and by assisting companies in the ongoing process of ecological transition. This is why, going beyond the traditional approach of the insurance sector, for three years now our Group has been identifying and rewarding the best companies involved in new initiatives, characterised by technological development, attention to the environment and capacity for innovation"
