Solaris Pons issues €7m minibond via PBZ to boost solar and green energy
17 March 2025
Privredna banka Zagreb (PBZ), part of Intesa Sanpaolo’s International Banks Division, acted as sole issue agent and investor for Solaris Pons’ €7 million corporate minibond. This marks PBZ’s 60th capital markets transaction – and a significant step in accelerating Croatia’s green energy shift.
Solaris Pons becomes the eighth company in Croatia to join the Minibond Initiative, bringing total issuance under the Croatian program to €45 million. The program provides targeted financing for high-impact growth projects among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
This is the first minibond issuance under the initiative in which 100% of the proceeds will be invested in renewable energy. Solaris Pons will use the funds to expand its solar capacity by over 23 MW annually, and invest in energy storage systems and a growing network of EV charging stations.
Founded in Osijek in 2013, Solaris Pons has delivered more than 1,100 solar power projects across Croatia, producing over 45 GWh of renewable energy to date. The company’s long-term goal is to become a vertically integrated energy provider, covering production, aggregation, storage, and supply of electricity.
This transaction underlines the importance of alternative financing solutions for SMEs committed to growth and sustainability. PBZ continues to support innovative companies like Solaris Pons that are helping to shape Croatia’s low-carbon future.
