Intesa Sanpaolo participates in €65m financing for two METLEN solar parks

The IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo has taken part in a €65 million club deal financing METLEN for the construction of two solar parks in Porto Torres (Sardinia) and Casale Monferrato (Piedmont), with a total capacity of 60 MW.

The two plants are expected to be completed by the end of 2025 and to generate approximately 110 GWh of clean energy per year—enough to:

meet the needs of over 50,000 Italian households
prevent the emission of 26,000 tonnes of CO₂ annually.

As part of the transaction, the IMI CIB Division acted as Global Coordinator, Mandated Lead Arranger, Green Loan Coordinator and Hedging Bank, reaffirming its commitment to driving the country’s energy transition and supporting the growth of international operators.
