14 January 2026
A new €1 billion financing agreement strengthens the long-standing partnership between Intesa Sanpaolo and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, with the aim of improving access to credit for Italian SMEs and Mid-Cap companies and supporting investment, real economy growth and local development.
Scope of the agreement
Under the deal, resources provided by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti will enable Intesa Sanpaolo to grant loans of up to €25 million per project, with maturities of up to 18 years.
Financing may be used for:
- planned or ongoing investments strengthening key supply chains
- investment in tangible and intangible assets
- working capital needs.
A partnership active since 2021
The transaction builds on a cooperation launched in 2021, which has already mobilised around €5 billion to support the growth of more than 6,000 Italian companies. The new agreement confirms the shared commitment to supporting the entrepreneurial fabric during a period of significant market transformation.
Supporting territories and the real economy
By expanding access to financing solutions, the initiative aims to enhance companies’ competitiveness and capacity to undertake complex investment projects, generating positive spillovers for local economies and the broader Italian productive system.
