Intesa Sanpaolo backs Middleby’s European growth with €20m loan

Intesa Sanpaolo, through its Banca dei Territori Division, is supporting the European growth plans of the Middleby Group with a €20 million loan granted to its subsidiary Colussi Ermes S.r.l., aimed at developing the Middleby Centro di Innovazione (Innovation Hub) in Casarsa della Delizia, northeastern Italy.
Strategic background
The transaction is part of Intesa Sanpaolo’s commitment to supporting investments by small and medium-sized enterprises in research, innovation and industrial development, particularly companies combining strong local roots with an international presence. The financing reinforces the Bank’s role as a long-term partner for sustainable growth.
The Middleby Centro di Innovazione for research and industrial development
The loan will enable the creation of a 7,500-square-metre integrated hub, the largest within the Middleby Group worldwide, equipped with more than fifty operational technology systems dedicated to research, development and testing.
Colussi Ermes operates in the production of washing systems for the food industry and is part of the US-based The Middleby Corporation, a global leader in foodservice and food processing equipment.
