Intesa Sanpaolo provides €8.8m financing to Arena Group for solar energy

Intesa Sanpaolo, through its IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, has provided €8.8 million in financing to Energy Power 1, a subsidiary of Arena Energy Power and part of Arena Group, to support the development of renewable energy in Sicily.
The financing includes a €6.8 million Green Loan for the construction of a new Full Merchant photovoltaic plant in Assoro, in the province of Enna, Sicily. The solar power plant will have a total installed capacity of approximately 9.9 MWp.
The project will enable Arena Group to:
- increase the production of electricity from solar energy
- progressively reduce its dependence on external energy supplies
- advance its decarbonisation strategy, generating long-term environmental and economic benefits.
The €6.8 million Green Loan complies with the Green Loan Principles of the Loan Market Association (LMA) and is fully aligned with the EU Taxonomy. Its structure reflects leading sustainable finance standards and supports the growing financing needs of companies investing in the energy transition.
The transaction further strengthens Intesa Sanpaolo’s role as a strategic financial partner for companies pursuing sustainable growth. The bank supports investment and development strategies focused on innovation, competitiveness and the decarbonisation of Italy’s production system.
