Intesa Sanpaolo and Confindustria Alberghi support youth employment in tourism
27 May 2026
Intesa Sanpaolo, Confindustria Alberghi, isybank and Generation Italy are expanding the “Giovani e Lavoro” (“Youth and Employment”) programme with new free training courses dedicated to the hospitality and tourism sector.
The initiative is designed to support employment opportunities for young people aged 18 to 29 while helping address the shortage of qualified staff across Italy’s tourism industry.
Since 2019, the programme has trained more than 5,700 young participants nationwide, achieving an employment rate above 80%.
New training pathways for hospitality and restaurant services
The initiative introduces specialised training courses for young people interested in restaurant services and front-of-house hospitality roles.
The courses are fully funded by Intesa Sanpaolo and developed together with Generation Italy and member companies of Confindustria Alberghi (the Italian hotel association) to align training with the skills most in demand in the labour market.
The programme combines practical learning with direct engagement from hospitality companies, which contribute to defining professional requirements and meet participants through dedicated recruitment interviews at the end of the training.
Intesa Sanpaolo’s commitment to youth employment
Launched in 2019 in partnership with Fondazione Generation Italy ETS, the “Giovani e Lavoro” programme aims to bridge the gap between labour demand and supply in sectors facing significant skills shortages.
The initiative currently collaborates with around 2,500 companies across Italy and provides free nationwide training courses focused on technical, behavioural and professional skills.
The programme covers strategic sectors including:
- Digital and IT professions
- Precision mechanical industry
- Retail and sales
- Hospitality and food services
- Renewable energy and energy transition.
Supporting the tourism industry through skills development
The partnership with Confindustria Alberghi reflects the strategic importance of tourism for the Italian economy and the increasing demand for qualified professionals in the sector.
The initiative is also part of the broader collaboration between Intesa Sanpaolo and Confindustria to strengthen the connection between education and employment and facilitate access to the labour market for younger generations.
Applications for the training courses can be submitted here.
