ESG securitisations: Intesa Sanpaolo best innovative bank in Europe
Intesa Sanpaolo has been honoured as the best innovative bank in Europe in the ESG securitisation sector, winning the "ESG Innovation of the year" category at the ESG Securitisation Awards promoted by Structured Credit Investor, an international financial information publication.
The award is an important recognition of Intesa Sanpaolo's ESG commitments and achievements, confirming the high level achieved in active credit risk management.
The main elements considered when bestowing the prize, which examined major banks in dozens of countries around the world, included:
- development of new ESG (environmental, social and governance) asset segments
- capacity for innovation in terms of structuring
- volume of transactions carried out
- active credit risk management model
Intesa Sanpaolo is among the most active banks at the European level in dynamic credit risk management through targeted lending strategies and credit risk transfer transactions that optimise the risk-return profile of the portfolio at Group level.
Since the launch of the Active Credit Risk Management Programme by the Active Credit Portfolio Steering Central Department, credit risk transfer transactions have been carried out for more than €50 billion, allowing the Bank to free up the capital needed to provide new loans in support of the growth of Italian companies.
