INTESA SANPAOLO TO ANNOUNCE NEW APPOINTMENTS AT THE “BANCA DEI TERRITORI” DIVISION

Milan/Turin, 09 October 2009 – Intesa Sanpaolo announced today a number of new important appointments within the Group.

Giuseppe Castagna, former Head of the Corporate Relationship Management within the Corporate and Investment Banking Division, will take over as Regional Director Campania, Basilicata, Calabria and Puglia within the "Banca dei Territori" Division. Mr Castagna has also been nominated as the new General Director of Banco di Napoli. This proposal will be submitted to its Board of Directors’ next meeting, pending formalisation.
As a result of this appointment, the Large & International Corporate, the Mid Corporate Italia as well as the Global Services directions will act under the direct responsibility of Gaetano Miccichè, Head of the Corporate and Investment Banking Division.

Franco Gallia will assume relevant tasks with the goal of developing business and will report to Francesco Micheli, General Director and Head of the "Banca dei Territori" Division.

Finally, Antonio Nucci, former General Director of Banco di Napoli, will be the new Regional Director of Lazio, Sardegna and Sicilia within the "Banca dei Territori" Division.
