Milan, 17 May 2013 – Intesa Sanpaolo, the leading Italian banking group with presence in all major centers and financial hubs in Europe, North and Latin America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and North Africa, has been granted the approval to open a branch in Turkey by the local Board of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK). The Istanbul branch is a tangible sign of Intesa’s commitment to the Turkish market.
In the coming months, the branch will be fully operative, serving Turkish, European and international corporate clients, as part of the international Corporate & Investment Banking network of the Group. The new branch in Istanbul will play a crucial role in the region and will operate leveraging on the already strong presence of the Group in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Beirut, Casablanca, Cairo and Tunis.
