The appointment of the new regional managers, acting to all effects and purposes as “territorial general managers”, indicates a distinct generational renewal, with a reduction of around ten years in the average age of these top managers.

Moreover, for the first time in the history of the Group, a woman has been appointed as head of a Regional Governance Centre.

The Bank should like to express its thanks to the outgoing managers of the Regional Governance Centres, Pier Aldo Bauchiero (Lombardy), Franco Ceruti (City and Province of Milan), Franco Gallia (Campania, Basilicata, Calabria, Puglia and Sicily), Adriano Maestri (Emilia Romagna, Marches, Abruzzo and Molise), Luciano Nebbia (Tuscany, Umbria, Lazio and Sardinia), Antonio Nucci (Piedmont, Val d’Aosta and Liguria), for the important contribution they have made over these years; they will be offered positions as members of the Boards of Directors of the Banks and other subsidiaries of the Group.

“Starting today,” said Carlo Messina, managing director and CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo, “Intesa Sanpaolo’s Banca dei Territori has equipped itself with a new set of managers of the Regional Governance Centres. We have appointed young people in possession of conspicuous capacities and the required experience. We wished to valorise the professional expertise existing within the Group while also implementing a significant generational change. I am confident that the new managers will harvest the best possible legacy from their predecessors and successfully address the major professional challenges that lie ahead of them. I should like to express my thanks to the outgoing managers of the Regional Governance Centres, who over the last year and a half have worked alongside me in the Banca dei Territori Division, for the excellent results achieved by the Division under their leadership. Their precious contribution will continue to be appreciated in their new roles.”
