CORPORATE KNIGHTS RANKING: INTESA SANPAOLO THE ONLY ITALIAN GROUP TO BE AMONG THE 100 MOST SUSTAINABLE LISTED COMPANIES IN THE WORLD
The ranking was presented today at the World Economic Forum in Davos

Milan, 23 January 2018 – According to the ranking compiled by Corporate Knights, the Canadian magazine specialising in sustainable capitalism, Intesa Sanpaolo is the only Italian group among the 100 most sustainable listed companies in the world. The Group came 41st out of the 6,000 companies analysed on the basis of 17 indicators relating to environmental, social and governance areas. Only 2% of the world’s listed companies made the ranking.

This significant achievement, presented today at the World Economic Forum in Davos, confirms Intesa Sanpaolo’s commitment to sustainability. The development of coherent strategies in risk and opportunity management in ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) has meant that the Group has been included in the major sustainability indices, including the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (World and Europe) and the Climate A-List of the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project).

“The position in the ranking is further confirmation of our leading role in sustainability. We were the first Italian bank to issue a Green Bond last June, a concrete example of the value we attribute to environmental protection in order to form a civil society that has well-being and an intelligent use of resources at its heart.
