Milan 13 October 2024 - As made public, a disloyal employee of our Bank, through conduct that gravely violated laws, regulations, and internal procedures, unjustifiably accessed data and information concerning some clients.
Our internal control system identified the individual, after which we notified the Data Protection Authority, dismissed the disloyal employee, and filed a complaint as an injured party.
We are deeply sorry for what has occurred and we apologize.
This must never happen again.
We confirm that there was no cybersecurity issue, and Intesa Sanpaolo ranks among the best-in-class internationally in this regard.
The commitment of all 100,000 employees at Intesa Sanpaolo is to maintain the levels of excellence that position the Bank among the European leaders.
Guided by our values, we will continue to ensure our role as Italy’s economic and social driver.
