INTESA SANPAOLO ONCE AGAIN LEADS IN EUROPE FOR RELATIONS WITH INVESTORS AND ANALYSTS AND FOR BEST ESG PROGRAM

Milan, 18 June 2025Carlo Messina, CEO of Intesa Sanpaolo, has been voted “Best Chief Executive Officer” in European banking in the 2025 ranking by the specialist research firm Extel (formerly Institutional Investor Research). This follows on his recent recognition as “European Banker of the Year 2024” by the Frankfurt-based association of financial journalists, The Group of 20+1.

Messina tops the Extel ranking — based on votes from institutional investors and financial analysts — for the eighth time since its launch ten years ago. In the other two years, he ranked second.

Intesa Sanpaolo has also once again been ranked Europe’s top bank for relations with institutional investors and financial analysts, as well as for ESG performance, according to the same survey.

Intesa Sanpaolo Board of Directors confirmed Best Company Board in European banking for the fourth consecutive year, claiming the top spot every year since the category was introduced.

Luca Bocca - who became Intesa Sanpaolo’s Chief Financial Officer in April 2024 - voted Best CFO.

Marco Delfrate voted Best Investor Relations Professional for the eighth consecutive year.

Intesa Sanpaolo’s Investor Relations team – led by Marco Delfrate and Andrea Tamagnini – ranked the best in European banking for the eighth year.

Intesa Sanpaolo ranked first for Best ESG Program among European banks for the sixth consecutive year in recognition of the Group’s ESG strategy, engagement and disclosure.

The rankings by Extel – which are based on a broad survey of around 1,750 institutional investors and financial analysts – underline the international financial community’s continued appreciation for an Italian excellence focused on innovation, social impact and sustainability. The financial community recognizes the quality of Intesa Sanpaolo’s CEO and management team, consistently regarded at the best in Europe by investors and financial analysts.
