PRAVEX BANK appoints Semen Babaiev as CEO effective January 1, 2026

• Semen Babaiev appointed CEO of PRAVEX BANK effective January 1, 2026
• Over 20 years of experience within PRAVEX BANK, with expertise in retail, treasury and cash management
• Succeeds Gianluca Corrias, who has served as CEO since 2023

 

9 January 2026 - Semen Babaiev has been appointed CEO of PRAVEX BANK effective January 1, 2026, following a decision by the Bank’s Supervisory Board and approval by the National Bank of Ukraine. PRAVEX BANK is part of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, one of the leading banking groups in Europe.

Babaiev has over 20 years of experience within PRAVEX BANK, where he joined in January 2003 as an economist in the Branch Management Department. Over the course of his career, he has held roles of increasing responsibility, including Branch Manager and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board. He also contributed to the development of Treasury and Cash Management activities, gaining extensive experience in liquidity and financial flow management.

In recent years, he led the Retail Business and, prior to his appointment as CEO, served as Head of the Main Business Division. His academic background includes a degree in Economics from VTEI KNTEU and a Pre-MBA in Business Analysis from MIM Business School.

As CEO, Babaiev will oversee the continued implementation of Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s strategic objectives in Ukraine, with the aim of strengthening PRAVEX BANK’s position as a universal bank serving both corporate and retail clients.

The appointment follows the conclusion of Gianluca Corrias’s term as CEO, a role he has held since 2023. PRAVEX BANK and its Supervisory Board expressed their appreciation for his contribution, particularly in ensuring the Bank’s stability and delivering key strategic initiatives during his tenure.
