- Luca Remmert: “In a challenging global environment, we have achieved significant growth, confirming that innovation can be both an essential tool for strengthening the competitiveness of the Italian and European economies and a major investment opportunity, linking private capital with the new economy.”
Turin, 30 September 2026 – Neva SGR, the venture capital company of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, wholly owned by Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, held its Annual Meeting today in Turin, entitled Connecting Innovation to Growth.
Neva SGR brought together investors, entrepreneurs, managers, institutions and representatives of the innovation ecosystem from all over the world at the Officine Grandi Riparazioni to present the results of six years of activity and discuss innovative solutions to the major global challenges that venture capital can support, from climate change to energy efficiency, from the new frontiers of life sciences to digital transformation, from the opportunities of the space economy to the most advanced production technologies.
Following the institutional greetings from the Chairman of Intesa Sanpaolo, Gian Maria Gros-Pietro, and the Chairman of Neva SGR, Luca Remmert, the CEO and General Manager of Neva SGR, Mario Costantini, presented the performance of the funds, the investment activities and the company’s growth prospects.
From August 2020 to date, despite the difficulties caused by the pandemic in the first two years and the changing geopolitical landscape, Neva SGR has raised a total of €600 million in capital, managed through its six venture capital funds: Neva First, Neva First Italia, Fondo SEI Sviluppo Ecosistemi di Innovazione, Neva II, Neva II Italia and Fondo Neva II Parallelo Lombardia.
Through its funds, Neva SGR has so far invested €273 million in over 50 highly innovative companies in Italy and abroad and in Italian funds dedicated to the development of innovation, receiving around €55 million from exits (sales of company shares following their appreciation). The remainder of the capital raised enables Neva SGR to participate in new investments, both in the most promising companies in which it has already invested and in new companies selected globally.
For some time now, Neva SGR's fund portfolios have included companies that were ahead of their time and are now regarded by the market as new benchmarks in the transformation of entire strategic sectors. In the second part of the event, investors and industry partners were able to hear first-hand accounts from the founders and CEOs of some of these companies, who are among the most innovative entrepreneurs globally.
Following Chairman Remmert’s closing remarks, the event provided an opportunity for innovative companies to meet with the industrial world, fostering the creation of new partnerships.
“In six years, in a challenging global environment, we have undergone a significant period of growth, confirming that innovation can be both an essential tool for strengthening the competitiveness of the Italian and European economic systems and a major investment opportunity, linking private capital with the new economy,” says Luca Remmert, Chairman of Neva SGR. “If we want our country to continue to play a leading role in the future, we must contribute to the creation and development of new industrial and technological supply chains by identifying and supporting entrepreneurs and companies that have the vision, talent and capacity to become the champions of tomorrow. Our venture capital funds are among the most effective and transparent tools for enabling investors to access and contribute to innovation through an appropriate level of risk diversification.”
