Intesa Sanpaolo adheres to the 2024 European Week for Waste Reduction
For the thirteenth consecutive year, Intesa Sanpaolo is taking part in the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), which will take place from 16 to 24 November.
Under the slogan "Food waste is out of taste", the EWWR 2024 focuses on reducing food waste, calling for joining forces to change the way we produce, distribute but also consume food in Europe.
As always, the bank will contribute to the dissemination of this important message, publishing a communication in the "Sustainability" section of the Group website, relaunched through social channels.
On 20 November, the Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center organizes, for the occasion, an Innovation Coffee available online, entitled "Design for food for circular economy". The protagonists will be dr. Cristian Campagnaro, full professor at the Department of Architecture and Design of the Polytechnic University of Turin who, since 2017, has been the scientific manager of the "Fighting Food Waste Design Focus" project and of the "Polito Food Design Lab" and Paolo Rellini, COO and Co-founder of Regusto, a startup in the business development portfolio of the Innovation Center, with the aim of proposing concrete solutions to prevent and reduce food waste, in the profit and non-profit sectors, acting according to the logic of the circular economy.
The meeting is dedicated to bringing concrete experiences on how technological, social and systemic innovation plays a fundamental role in rethinking supply chains in order to reduce food waste and its impact and how it is possible to develop innovative product strategies to extend the useful life of food.
Intesa Sanpaolo has always been committed to spreading the culture of sustainability and, through the Innovation Center, also to the culture of Innovation and to the promotion of circular economy solutions, of which it is the Group's center of expertise, also through support for start-ups with innovative ideas on these issues.
We can all do our part, avoiding wasting food, teaching it to children, using the numerous apps to fight food waste and bringing our example into everyday life.
