Intesa Sanpaolo confirmed in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices
May 5, 2026
Intesa Sanpaolo has again been included this year in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index and Dow Jones Best-in-Class Europe Index, among the most important sustainability stock indices at the global and European level. It is the only Italian bank present in the global index and the only Italian bank to boast a continuous presence in these indices over the past 15 years.
The indices include the best companies worldwide and in Europe respectively, across more than 60 business sectors, selected on the basis of the annual sustainability assessment conducted by S&P Global. Intesa Sanpaolo was assigned an overall score of 83 out of 100, compared to an industry average of 36¹.
Following the index rebalancing, 25 banks were included in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index and 11 in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Europe Index, out of a total of more than 3,500 eligible companies.
The recognition confirms Intesa Sanpaolo among the most active groups in the world for sustainable development and reflects the Group's commitment reaffirmed in the 2026–2029 Business Plan, which provides for the confirmation of social leadership, support for clients' sustainable transition with 30% of newly disbursed medium-to-long-term credit allocated to social and environmental activities, and the continuation of the Group's decarbonisation commitment.
