Protection of free competition and of consumer
The Group constantly monitors and promotes free competition and spreads the culture of compliance with antitrust regulations, working to ensure that international, European and national rules and procedures in this area are effectively applied and respected, so as to make concrete the commitment, established in the Code of Ethics, to compete fairly in the market and cooperate with other economic, private and public entities, whenever necessary to strengthen the overall capacity of the countries where the Group operates.
To this end, it has long since equipped itself with a monitoring system for the risk of non-compliance in antitrust matters and has adopted a broad Antitrust Compliance Program. The monitoring of the topic has been extended to include, in addition to the more classic declinations of antitrust discipline (mergers, abuses of dominant position and agreements), also the European legislation on State aid and the recent Italian regulations to support the competitiveness of the Italian system.

Training hours for the protection of free competition
Key elements of the Antitrust Compliance Program include the establishment of a specific internal team of experts to supervise antitrust compliance, the adoption of a Group Antitrust Regulation, Rules of Conduct in Antitrust Matters and Rules on Antitrust Inspections, as well as a training and information program.
Activities to raise awareness and disseminate the culture of antitrust compliance within the Group continued in 2025 through the publication of 10 Web TV clips, and 13 articles for the Group’s internal magazine Mosaico (also translated into English). Moreover, in 2025, with regard to digital training, the Collection ‘Antitrust... just rules or a market support tool?’ – composed of 28 learning objects – was available on APPRENDO, the corporate training platform, and accessible to employees in the Group’s foreign banks and companies in English.
