Building the future and rebuilding the past through innovation
Privredna Banka Zagreb, part of Intesa Sanpaolo's International Banks Division, has long supported the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Croatia, fostering sustainable growth and innovation in line with best practices from European financial markets.
“At Intesa Sanpaolo, we believe that supporting the growth of local enterprises is essential to building a more competitive and resilient European economy. This initiative strengthens international banks’ position as market leaders and represents an important step forward in the development and diversification of each country's financial ecosystem.”
The Group’s commitment is to broaden opportunities for companies across Central and Eastern Europe access to capital markets through innovative, flexible alternatives to traditional loans. Texo Molior, one of the leading regional construction companies, is among the businesses that have chosen to collaborate with Privredna Banka Zagreb to strengthen their competitiveness and consolidate their presence in the European economic landscape. The company's preference to partner with Privredna Banka Zagreb was a natural one, as leaders tend to choose partners who share the same views.
Boosting Croatian SMEs: the Texo Molior success story in construction and innovation
“We believe that the foundations for success are trust and transparency, key elements we have always found in Privedna Banka Zagreb over our years of successful cooperation.” stared Antoan Kralj, owner representative of Texo Molior.
Thanks to the support received, the company has accelerated its investments in growth and digitalisation, especially for the development of its proprietary software that Kralj says is expected to make it more transparent and agile.
In line with its mission to build, connect and protect, Texo Molior puts people and communities at the centre of its activities.
The company believes there is an impact beyond the economic one and employment, on the whole environment and the community where they operate.Texo Molior is currently engaged in numerous construction sites around Croatia and the region, including the expansion of St. Peter's Pier in the Port of Split - crucial project for residents and tourists where three more berths will be built, thus increasing the capacity of the Split City Port and reducing the waiting time for passengers to board ships and ferries.
“Our goal is to make people’s lives easier. There are many projects that directly impact a large number of local communities, as we are conducting many infrastructure projects: roads such as the bypass on Pelješac and bypass of Drniš that we are currently working on.”
There will be large impact in Drniš bypass, a road of vital importance for the development of the entire Dalmatian hinterland. The over 9-kilometer-long section will bring new opportunities to thousands of residents of the area, and to the development of new business zones and new jobs. Further proximity to Šibenik as a regional center, will relieve the center of Drniš of freight traffic and will bring a new level of traffic safety for all participants.
Other complex project is the Dugi Rat – Omiš section, a demanding one in terms of engineering. The project includes tunnels and bridges, and part of the comprehensive solution for the Split - Omiš expressway, which will bring traffic relief on of the most congested sections in the country.
Texo Molior was founded in 2012 in the Dubrovnik region as a family enterprise and started out with small construction projects. After only 13 years, it is positioned as a construction frontrunner in Croatia and across the region, with projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia as well. The company is a major employer in Croatia, providing employment for more than 500 staff and with over 150 engineers. When it comes to the ESG standards that were recently introduced in the construction industry by the European Union, Kralj says that they took them seriously from day one, trying to involve them in their mission.
“What is also specific to our company is that we are one of the few companies that deal with the rehabilitation of cultural heritage, which is one of the most demanding branches of construction. Coming from the Dubrovnik region, known worldwide as a historical place, cultural heritage has a special meaning for us. We have just completed the restoration of Opeka Castle, one of the most remarkable in Croatia, and we are currently working on another one," says Kralj.
"You have to be careful when analyzing and planning because these works are far more delicate and unpredictable in comparison to building new high-rise construction from scratch, but the joy you get from the people in the community, when they realize that a part of their history is safe and preserved, is something that makes it worthwhile."
Looking at the future, Texo Molior’s goals are to improve, grow and establish themselves even more firmly in the market in the region, to continue to invest in ESG, following their internal saying “Measurable progress is the only acceptable unit for success”.
