With reference to rumours reported today in the Press on a possible takeover bid for Capitalia on the part of Banca Intesa, the latter’s Managing Director and CEO Corrado Passera states: “Both Professor Bazoli and myself have denied these rumours many times and once more I declare that they are totally groundless. Whoever continues to spread this type of unfounded information will be responsible for creating serious market disturbance”.
