On the occasion of the Best Bank Awards 2022, Global Finance magazine has awarded the “Best Banks in Central & Eastern Europe”, recognizing PBZ in Croatia, Banca Intesa in Serbia and VUB in Slovakia as the best banks in their respective countries.

The three banks, part of Intesa Sanpaolo's International Subsidiary Banks Division, were recognized by the US-based financial magazine as those that best responded to customers’ needs in a difficult context and accomplished strong results while laying the foundations for future success.

Each year Global Finance selects – with the support of financial experts and analysts – the best banks in the world. Criteria used to assess banks include: growth in assets, profitability, geographic reach, strategic relationships, new business development and innovation in products.

Intesa Sanpaolo was previously awarded by Global Finance as “Best Bank in Italy” for 2021, best digital bank in Western Europe and Best FX Provider in Western Europe and Italy.
