Intesa Sanpaolo launches Academy4Future for future banking roles
6 October 2025
Intesa Sanpaolo launched Academy4Future, a new training hub designed to support the Group’s more than 90,000 people as they face the challenges of digital transformation and the emergence of new roles within the bank of tomorrow.
This “transformative learning” journey focuses on key areas such as:
- artificial intelligence
- data management, protection and analysis
- risk
- internationalisation
- development of commercial networks
- wealth management
- omnichannel banking
- ESG
Intesa Sanpaolo is investing in all its people to enhance their professional development, align their skills with future banking roles, and strengthen their employability.
“The banking and insurance sectors are constantly evolving in response to regulatory and technological change. We want to lead this transformation, not just adapt to it.
The training provided by Academy4Future will ensure that our people remain central to this evolution. Technology will not replace the human element – it will enhance it”
Nicola Fioravanti, Chief Governance, Operating and Transformation Officer, Intesa Sanpaolo
Every year, 20,000 colleagues will take part in training activities, with participation gradually extended to international offices. Over the past four years, the Group has delivered more than 46 million hours of training and helped 8,600 people reskill.
The initiative is part of a broader approach that has seen Intesa Sanpaolo pioneer people-centred policies: from the introduction of smart working in 2015 to the recent adoption of a short workweek and flexible hours, along with advanced welfare measures and support for parenting.
“Back in 2015, we were already pioneering smart working. In 2023, we were among the first in Europe to introduce the shorter work week, and today we’re at the forefront in terms of the number of people who are already able to take advantage of it. This innovative approach is also possible thanks to the strong and long-standing relationships we have with trade union representatives - a tradition at Intesa Sanpaolo”
Roberto Cascella, Chief People & Culture Officer, Intesa Sanpaolo
Since 2021, the Group has hired around 5,000 young people, including over 2,300 in IT and tech roles. It plans a further 3,500 hires in the coming years, particularly in Wealth Management & Protection.
With Academy4Future, Intesa Sanpaolo further strengthens its position as a European leader in financial strength, innovation and people development, reaffirming the central role of its people as drivers of change.
