The IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo has signed a €355 million green loan for N-Sun Energy, a rapidly growing solar energy platform in Europe, created by Alantra and Solarig.

The funding will support the development and construction of a portfolio of five photovoltaic and agrivoltaic plants located in Lazio, Puglia and Sicily, with a total capacity of around 275 MWp.

Once operational, the plants will significantly boost Italy’s renewable energy generation capacity, with the commercial start-up of all five plants expected by the end of 2027.

In the transaction, the IMI CIB Division acted as Mandated Lead Arranger, Underwriter, Sole Bookrunner, Global Coordinator, Agent Bank and Green Loan Coordinator, confirming its role as a strategic partner supporting companies engaged in sustainable development and the country’s energy transition.
