Intesa Sanpaolo raises Charity Fund resources to €30m for 2026

Intesa Sanpaolo has increased the 2026 allocation of its Charity Fund to €30 million, strengthening support for third sector organisations and projects dedicated to vulnerable communities. Over the last decade, the Fund has supported 8,500 initiatives benefiting more than 10 million people, generating more than four euros in social value for every euro invested.
Intesa Sanpaolo strengthens support for the third sector
Intesa Sanpaolo has increased by 25% compared with 2025 the resources allocated to its Charity Fund and social and cultural initiatives. In 2026, the Fund will have €30 million available to support third sector organisations across Italy. Established under the Bank’s Articles of Association and overseen by the Chairmanship, the Fund supports projects focused on solidarity, social inclusion, research and community development.
According to an independent assessment conducted by ALTIS – Università Cattolica, every euro invested by the Fund generates €4.16 in social and economic value for the community.
Ten years of activity: 8,500 projects supported
Between 2016 and 2025, Intesa Sanpaolo’s Charity Fund allocated more than €154 million to 8,500 projects, reaching over 10 million beneficiaries including vulnerable families, young people, women and disadvantaged individuals.
The ten-year report highlights an operating model based on:
- transparency and accountability
- listening to social needs
- partnerships with third sector organisations
- increasing focus on vulnerable communities
with 99% of current resources allocated to initiatives supporting the most vulnerable groups.

The Fund’s strategic priorities for 2026
For the 2025-2026 period, Intesa Sanpaolo confirms three priority areas of intervention:
- community healthcare and local welfare
- development of Southern Italy and island regions
- social inclusion of migrants and refugees
In 2025 these areas accounted for a total of €8.2 million in grants, equal to 34% of the Fund’s total disbursements.
Territorial impact and social projects
With 2,731 projects assessed in 2025 (+17% versus 2024), Intesa Sanpaolo’s Charity Fund continues to represent a key reference point in Italian philanthropy.
In 2025, €24.3 million in resources supported 1.6 million beneficiaries. Initiatives involved all Italian regions, with 37% of resources distributed in Northern Italy, 30% in Central Italy and 33% in Southern Italy and the Islands.
Supported initiatives included projects combating gender-based violence, programmes addressing educational poverty and school dropout rates, employment inclusion pathways for young people, people with disabilities and NEETs, psychological and social support initiatives and activities dedicated to homeless individuals.
The Fund also supported medical and social research projects focused, among other areas, on oncology, mental health, the use of artificial intelligence in healthcare and the analysis of social vulnerabilities.
