Intesa Sanpaolo completes core IT cloud migration with TIM and Google Cloud

Intesa Sanpaolo has completed the migration of its core IT systems to the cloud as part of the digital transformation programme developed with TIM and Google Cloud.
The project, designed to make Intesa Sanpaolo's infrastructure faster, ready to support artificial intelligence and more sustainable, has met and exceeded its technical targets. The migration was carried out using the two Google Cloud regions hosted in TIM's data centres in Turin and Milan.
TIM provided end-to-end programme governance, helping oversee risk management, cost control and operational continuity throughout the migration process.

Overall, more than 800 applications were migrated to the new cloud infrastructure, while an equal number were decommissioned from legacy systems. The migration was completed without service interruptions or critical incidents, ensuring full business continuity throughout the data transfer process.
The programme was supported by a dedicated cloud-first training initiative involving more than 3,000 employees, resulting in over 170 Google Cloud certifications, including more than 60 advanced-level certifications.
With the completion of the project, Intesa Sanpaolo has further strengthened its digital infrastructure and consolidated the technological foundations needed to develop new services, including those powered by Artificial Intelligence.
