Intesa Sanpaolo, through its IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division, has participated in an £825 million financing, equivalent to more than €950 million, for Enviromena to support the development of renewable energy projects in the United Kingdom.
The transaction represents one of the largest deals in the UK solar sector in 2026 and will contribute to the energy transition, security of supply and the deployment of low-emission solutions.
Enviromena, owned by Arjun Infrastructure Partners, operates in the development, construction and management of large-scale solar plants and energy storage systems in the United Kingdom and across Europe.
Financing to accelerate solar capacity in the United Kingdom
The financing structure includes an initial £525 million tranche, equivalent to approximately €606 million, aimed at the immediate development of photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of around 1 GW. The transaction also includes an additional facility of up to £300 million, more than €346 million, which may be progressively drawn depending on project progress.
The expansion of photovoltaic capacity is considered strategic to achieving the UK government’s energy targets, strengthening energy security and reducing long-term energy costs.
