Neva SGR, the venture capital company of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group wholly owned by Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, has invested through its Neva II Fund in Nouscom, a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on cancer interception, for the development of next-generation immunotherapies.
The investment is part of Nouscom’s €120 million Series D financing round, aimed at accelerating the clinical development of NOUS-209, an investigational off-the-shelf neoantigen-based cancer immunotherapy designed for cancer interception in individuals with Lynch syndrome, a hereditary cancer predisposition condition.
Cancer interception is an innovative approach that seeks to stop the disease at its earliest stages, before cancer develops and spreads.
Nouscom is headquartered in Switzerland and operates research and manufacturing facilities in Italy at the Castel Romano Technology Park.
The investment reflects Neva SGR’s focus on high-potential growth technologies and scientific innovation, with particular attention to initiatives that strengthen research capabilities and expertise in Italy.
Alongside Neva SGR, the financing round attracted leading international funds, pharmaceutical company Angelini Industries, the European Investment Bank, and all of Nouscom’s existing international life sciences investors.
