15 October 2025 -  Intesa Sanpaolo Research Department, in partnership with Cluster SPRING, presented the Report "The Bioeconomy in Europe", at the European Parliament in Brussels.

The 2025 Report provides new insights into the sector’s growth and opportunities across Europe. The Report presents estimation on the value of bioeconomy production and employment in Italy and, for the first time, in the EU27.

It also contains the results of a survey of companies active in the plastic packaging production sector, an in-depth analysis of inland areas of Southern Italy, and a focus on the forthcoming European Strategy for the Bioeconomy.

The Report, now in its 11th edition , has become a point of reference for professionals and policymakers. It quantifies the complex set of sectors that use renewable bio-based raw materials and offers insights into the development of one of the pillars of the inevitable transition towards more sustainable production and consumption models.
