Jacopo Vasamì is one of the brightest prospects in Italian tennis. At just 18 years old, he is already training at the highest level (having already attended the Rafa Nadal Academy and serving as a practice partner at several Grand Slam tournaments) and has some significant results on the junior circuit already under his belt, most notably when he reached the quarter-finals of the French Open Juniors. In 2025, he also won his first ITF titles in Cairo and Casablanca, while in 2026 he earned a place in the main draw of the ATP Challenger 125 in Monza following a successful run through the qualifying rounds. A few weeks later, he reached his first ATP Challenger final at the Internazionali Città di Vicenza.

Born on 19 December 2007 in Avezzano (L’Aquila), Jacopo Vasamì honed his tennis skills in Rome, firstly at the Tennis Club Parioli, then at the Tennis Club Nomentano under the guidance of coach Fabrizio Zeppieri. 

At just 12 years old, he won a scholarship to the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, where he lived and trained on his own for two years. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop not only technically but also personally, building discipline and self-awareness. 

Between 2023 and 2025, he established himself as one of the world’s top junior players, winning the J30 in Timisoara, the J200 in Salsomaggiore, the J500 in Cairo and the J300 in Casablanca, as well as the prestigious Bonfiglio Trophy in Milan, breaking into the top 10 of the ITF Junior Rankings and thus becoming Italy’s number one Under-18 player. Also in 2025, he made his debut on the Challenger circuit, securing his first victories against seasoned professionals and thereby earning the chance to fly to Australia to play as a practice partner at the season’s first Grand Slam event. 

In 2026, he continued his rise on the professional circuit by earning a place in the main draw of the ATP Challenger 125 in Monza and reaching his first ATP Challenger final at the Internazionali Città di Vicenza. At the tournament in Vicenza, he defeated, among others, top seed Stefano Travaglia in the semi-finals, a result that enabled him to make a significant leap in the ATP rankings and establish himself as one of the most promising young Italian players of his generation.

Vasamì has a powerful, modern game, built around a sharp serve and an aggressive forehand, particularly down the line, with his left-handed play making him even harder to predict. His mental approach and ability to adapt to different surfaces ensure he can be competitive at every level. He stands out for his boundless on-court energy and strong work ethic, qualities that are enabling him to rise rapidly through the ranks of junior tennis.
