Only Italian bank among the 100 most inclusive companies according to Refinitiv. Intesa Sanpaolo fosters a culture of inclusion and encourages respect and value for the diversity of the Group's people

Intesa Sanpaolo is the only Italian bank and the sixth bank in the world included in Refinitiv's "Diversity and Inclusion Index", which gathers together the top 100 listed companies in the world that stand out for their commitment to supporting inclusion and protecting diversity.

Thanks to its commitment to the issues of inclusion and development of the Group's people, Intesa Sanpaolo ranked 50th in the Refinitiv thematic index, improving its position compared to the previous year.

Intesa Sanpaolo was one of the first companies in Italy to understand the importance of an inclusive work environment; accordingly, in 2018 it set up a Diversity & Inclusion office tasked with fostering a culture of inclusion, encouraging respect for diversity and promoting its value by developing the multicultural heritage, experiences and characteristics of the Group's people.

In addition, since 2020, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group has also adopted specific principles on Diversity & Inclusion.

The policy accompanies the Code of Ethics and the Internal Code of Conduct, reinforcing the message on the values that distinguish the Group and that must inspire processes, initiatives and behaviours. It identifies the concrete commitments that Intesa Sanpaolo makes in promoting an inclusive environment and lays out the behaviours expected from everyone.

Refinitiv assesses corporate diversity and inclusion performance annually by analysing data on environmental, social and governance sustainability activities and using public sources such as sustainability reports, financial reports, corporate websites and press reports.
