Audiovisual: agreement with APE to support foreign productions in Italy
Intesa Sanpaolo and APE-Associazione Produttori Esecutivi Italiani (Association of Italian Executive Producers) have signed an agreement to support foreign executive productions in Italy: the aim is to attract foreign productions by fostering the role of the cinema as an economic catalyst for numerous production sectors, with benefits for the entire supply chain in terms of both employment and the promotion of Italy and Made in Italy.
More specifically, through the agreement, Intesa Sanpaolo will make available to APE member companies the specialist support of its Desk Media & Culture for:
- ordinary and extraordinary finance operations - such as financing, tax credit mobilisation and VAT credit advancess
- specific solutions for foreign and Italian executive productions.
The agreement was presented at the American Film Market in Las Vegas, during a meeting in which APE-Associazione Produttori Esecutivi Italiani explained to industry operators the tax benefits currently in force in Italy and the opportunities offered by Cinecittà Studios.
According to an analysis by APE, 395 foreign productions have benefited from Italian tax credit measures in the last five years. Italy is amongst the world’s cheapest destinations from a tax point of view, where to make films, TV series and in general quality audiovisual productions.
