Intesa Sanpaolo is an important player in the process of transforming cities into smart cities, says Pierluigi Monceri, Regional Director of Milan, Monza and Brianza, who took part in the event "La grande Milano - Dimensione Smart City" organised by Il Giornale.

In his speech, Monceri emphasised the importance of the initiatives implemented by Intesa Sanpaolo to improve life in the territories in which it operates, highlighting the Bank's commitment to promoting digital inclusion, healthcare, safety and accessibility.

In this context, Intesa Sanpaolo is driving change through various initiatives:

Through dedicated initiatives, such as the “For Funding”  project and the “Formula” programme, the Bank makes a concrete contribution to creating more inclusive and sustainable communities.
  • Smart People: Intesa Sanpaolo promotes educational and vocational training to expand opportunities in the employment market and support personal growth at all ages.
Through programmes such as “Giovani&Lavoro” and “Per Merito”, the Bank facilitates access to training and career paths, helping to build a more qualified workforce fit for the needs of the future.
  • Smart Economy: Intesa Sanpaolo supports economic growth through innovation and sustainability, fostering competitiveness and digital transition.
With initiatives such as “Your future is Our Business” and dedicated programmes such as “Up2Stars”, the Bank promotes the development of innovative start-ups and facilitates the attraction of investors, businesses and new talent.
  • Smart Environment: Intesa Sanpaolo is committed to supporting environmental sustainability through initiatives aimed at reducing waste production, monitoring pollution and reducing emissions.
Thanks to the agreement with Acea , the bank has earmarked €20 billion to support companies and operators in the water supply chain. In addition, with €76 billion dedicated to the “Motore Italia Transizione Energetica” programme, Intesa Sanpaolo promotes business investment in energy from renewable sources and encourages the creation of Renewable Energy Communities (RECs).

In conclusion, Regional Director Monceri reiterated the need for collaboration between local administrations and key stakeholders and recalled that Intesa Sanpaolo had initiated the main cohesion project in Italy by providing resources of €1.5 billion by 2027 and over a thousand people working for the social sector, thus placing itself as an institution at the service of the country.
