Gota among the 100 most influential women in European finance, according to FN

Maria Luisa Gota, CEO of Eurizon asset management, has been added to the “FN100 Women in Finance 2025” list published annually by Financial News, highlighting the 100 most influential women in European finance.
Eurizon is the asset management company of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, part of its Wealth Management Divisions hub, and one of the leading players in the national and international asset management landscape.
Gota is the only representative from an Italian company featured on the list.
Now in its 19th edition, the FN100 selection celebrates women leaders who have reached the top across Financial News’s core coverage areas - including asset management, investment banking, hedge funds, law, accountancy, consultancy, wealth management, trading, market infrastructure and financial regulation - with a particular focus on those who actively support the next generation of female talent.
Key criteria considered for nominations include:
- size and stature of the business or team that they lead
- achievements to date
- ability to shape the sector going forward.
Financial News is a UK-based publication of the Dow Jones group. Founded in 1996, it covers European finance with news and analysis aimed at industry professionals.
Achievements under Maria Luisa Gota’s leadership at Eurizon:
- Appointed CEO of Eurizon in April 2024, Maria Luisa Gota became the first woman to lead the Asset Management Division of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group.
- In March 2025, she was unanimously elected Chair of Assogestioni, becoming the first woman to hold this position in the Italian association of asset manager’s history.
- Gota is currently leading the reorganisation of the Group’s asset management companies within Intesa Sanpaolo’s Wealth Management Divisions and overseeing Eurizon’s international expansion.
- Under her leadership, Eurizon entered the Greek market through a strategic partnership with Eurobank Asset Management, and launched into the ETF segment.
- Eurizon is also exploring innovative applications of artificial intelligence and fund tokenisation.
- Eurizon managed assets worth €397 billion at the end of June 2025, up 4.2% year-on-year, with contributions from all Group sales channels, third-party networks and institutional investors.
