Neva Sgr, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group's venture capital company, has subscribed to an investment in Phosphorus Cybersecurity Inc, a leading US company in security and device management for the Extended Internet of Things (xIoT).
With this investment, Phosphorus Cybersecurity aims to:
- accelerate the growth and improvement of intelligent automation in xIoT security to reduce the risk of large-scale device compromise
- expand its area of operations in Italy, exploiting the Intesa Sanpaolo Group's network of relationships.
“Investing in xIoT cybersecurity is today more necessary than ever given the rapid growth of connected devices across key sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, and hospitality. We chose Phosphorus because of its distinctive technology and innovative approach”
Mario Costantini, CEO and General Manager of Neva Sgr
The Phosphorus platform:
- facilitates the remote management of millions of connected devices, taking a proactive approach to cyber attack management
- enables customers to automate recovery tasks across all footprints, reducing the risk of large-scale device compromise.
- imagine a future with automated xIoT operations, where devices are protected, managed and operated autonomously
- works with some of the largest companies globally in sectors such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, data centres and manufacturing plants.
The transaction confirms Neva Sgr's commitment, through the Neva II and Neva II Italia funds, to contribute to the growth of the Italian economy through investments in new technologies.
xIoT is an extension of the Internet of Things, i.e. a network of connected devices, equipment and machinery that exchange data with each other and with other systems. The xIoT market is expanding rapidly with over 60 billion xIoT devices, representing more than five times the traditional IT assets such as PCs and servers.
