Academy4Future: investing in young talent and international growth
21 October 2026
Academy4Future, Intesa Sanpaolo’s corporate training hub, is strengthening its commitment to younger generations and international development, confirming its strategic role in the Group’s transformation.
One year after its launch, Academy4Future has already involved nearly all of the Group’s 90,000 employees in training programmes dedicated to developing the skills needed for the bank of the future.
Having already expanded its platform to 18 international banks and companies within the International Banks Division, reaching around 19,000 people, it is now launching two new programmes focused on the professional growth of younger generations:
- Future Gen, which will involve nearly 7,000 employees under the age of 35, in Italy and abroad, through a programme that combines training, professional development, wellbeing and career growth opportunities within the Group.
- Jump, aimed at 150 high-potential young talents identified through an assessment process. The programme will offer advanced managerial training, mentoring, networking opportunities, interaction with top management, cross-functional experiences and international opportunities.
The two programmes address complementary needs: expanding development opportunities for young professionals and preparing a new generation of managers for the Group’s future leadership responsibilities.
“The practical tools we offer young people for their career development, together with one of the most advanced welfare systems, which places particular emphasis on work-life balance, especially for young families, have led to our being recognised as one of the best employers. This is how we continue to attract qualified and motivated people and to strengthen the foundations for the Group's growth”
Roberto Cascella, Chief People and Culture Officer
With seven specialised faculties, more than twenty training programmes and content available in ten languages, Academy4Future promotes a shared culture while enhancing professional expertise across all the countries where the Group operates.
Focus on young people
Training has long been one of the pillars of Intesa Sanpaolo’s strategy and complements one of the most extensive youth recruitment plans in Italy. The 2026-2029 Business Plan envisages approximately 6,300 new hires by 2030, a figure that could rise to around 13,100, with an additional 6,800 hires by 2029 should the public exchange and tender offer on MPS be successfully completed.
Academy4Future’s training model is also built on collaboration with academia and the research community. Engagement with academic research helps continuously update its learning offering by identifying emerging needs and anticipating the skills required to address ongoing economic, technological and social changes.
In addition, supported by ongoing dialogue with trade unions, the Group has developed one of the most advanced welfare systems at both national and international levels. The model includes supplementary healthcare, complementary pension schemes and numerous initiatives designed to enhance quality of working life, including a time bank, company childcare facilities, parental support services, smart working arrangements, flexible working hours, a four-day workweek and an enhanced reduced working week for new parents.
