isybank: the digital bank for young people tops €3 billion in deposits
22 July 2026
With more than €3 billion in deposits and over 1 million customers, isybank, Intesa Sanpaolo’s digital bank, continues to strengthen its position as a leading partner for the personal finances of young people. Around 50% of its customers are aged between 18 and 25, while 75% are under 35.
More specifically, 170,000 salaries are paid into isybank accounts and more than 260,000 utility bills are domiciled with the bank, confirming that a growing number of young customers use isybank as their primary banking relationship for receiving their salary or other income and managing everyday expenses. This is a significant indicator of isybank’s “primacy”, especially considering that fintech users typically rely on multiple providers.
The milestone of €3 billion in deposits also reflects young customers’ growing trust in isybank as the bank where they choose to save and plan for their future goals.
“Promoting the value of saving and financial awareness through simple digital tools is one of our priorities, particularly for younger generations, to whom isybank is especially dedicated. We offer practical solutions that make saving easy and help customers achieve their goals, from everyday ambitions to major life projects, while encouraging sound and responsible financial behaviours”
Antonio Valitutti, CEO of isybank
isybank also provides a snapshot of a younger generation that is increasingly aware of its financial decisions and more sustainability-oriented. These values are supported through loyalty and reward initiatives designed to encourage responsible financial management while delivering a positive educational impact.
A fintech model backed by the strength of Intesa Sanpaolo
Thanks to being part of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group, isybank offers one of the most extensive propositions in the fintech market. Its range includes three account plans, with the most comprehensive option free of charge for customers under 35, as well as lending solutions, savings tools that enable customers to set aside both small and large amounts, digital payments, insurance products and investment funds focused on environmental and social sustainability objectives.
The service model combines a fully digital experience with the support of more than 2,300 relationship managers from Intesa Sanpaolo’s Digital Branch, available during extended opening hours and at weekends, preserving the value of human interaction and customer relationships.
Technology, omnichannel banking and artificial intelligence
At the heart of isybank is isytech, Intesa Sanpaolo’s cloud-native technology architecture and one of the key pillars of the Group’s digital transformation. This infrastructure enables an integrated omnichannel model, allowing customers to start a transaction on one channel and complete it on another, choosing at any time how they wish to interact with the bank.
Artificial intelligence further enhances the customer experience by automating operational processes and supporting the management of simpler requests, while ensuring that human interaction remains available for more complex needs.
A strategic project within Intesa Sanpaolo’s Business Plan
The growth of isybank forms part of Intesa Sanpaolo’s broader digital transformation strategy, which is a major enabler of the Group’s 2026–2029 Business Plan. The plan includes €4.6 billion of investments dedicated to technology and growth.
Under the Plan, isybank aims to reach 2 million customers by 2029 and generate net income of €100 million, leveraging the efficiency of the isytech platform and an operating model that already delivers a cost/income ratio of 30%.
isybank is also participating as a Payment Service Provider in the Retail Digital Euro pilot project promoted by the Eurosystem. Drawing on the support of BANCOMAT and Mooney, it will contribute to the development of Europe’s future digital payments infrastructure.
