Intesa Sanpaolo wins the 2019 Sustainable Development Grand Prix in Assosef
During the 13th edition of the Green Globe Banking 2030 Conference, which was held on December 10 in Bologna, Intesa Sanpaolo won the 2019 Sustainable Development Grand Prix, for the contribute to the promotion of the UN's 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals.
The initiative was organized by the European Sustainability and Financial Services Association - ASSOSEF - with the aim of promoting the spread of green and sustainable finance culture and practices.
The award was presented to Intesa Sanpaolo for its commitment to the circular economy and organized activities, according to the reasons of the Scientific Committee of Assosef, "for poverty reduction, to incentivize work and sustainable economic growth, to improve the conditions of cities and to equip itself with a fair governance system that fights corruption and is respectful of gender and diversity."
Intesa Sanpaolo: successfully completed the placement of the first Sustainability Bond dedicated to the Circular Economy
Intesa Sanpaolo has successfully completed the placement of its first Sustainability Bond for supporting loans granted by the Bank as part of the 5- billion-euro fund for the circular economy, launched last year. Demand reached over 3.5 billion euro, proof of the strong position held by Intesa Sanpaolo in international markets in this specific sector as well. The Bank completed the transaction by placing 750 million euro of bonds at a fixed rate of 0.75%, with a 5- year maturity.

Intesa Sanpaolo confirmed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
The Intesa Sanpaolo Group was confirmed, for the ninth consecutive year, in the "Dow Jones Sustainability World Index" and "Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index", ranking among the global companies most engaged in economic, social and environmental sustainability.
Intesa Sanpaolo's second Green Bond Report is published
Intesa Sanpaolo was the first Italian Bank to issue a Green Bond for 500 million euros, in 2017. The Green Bond was issued to finance projects dedicated to environmental sustainability, particularly in renewable energy and energy efficiency systems. The proceeds were fully allocated with 75 projects funded and 353,000 tons of CO2 emissions avoided annually. This is a further demonstration of the Group's strong commitment to sustainability and supporting projects with a positive impact on the environment.
This year’s update is the second annual report on the use of Green Bond proceeds.
World Environmental Day: the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s adhesion
June 5 2019 - For the eleventh year in a row, Intesa Sanpaolo is taking part in the World Environment Day, the well-known event established by the UN General Assembly in 1972 to raise attention and engage public opinion and governments on environmental issues and climate change. The group's strong commitment was also acknowledged by the carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) with the confirmation of our group in the "Climate Change A List" 2018, which includes the Best Companies in the world for performance in reducing carbon emissions and mitigating risks of climate change.

Intesa Sanpaolo has been confirmed by Bloomberg among the 230 companies included in the index on gender equality “Bloomberg Gender Equality Index 2019”. The Gender Equality Index (GEI), is a cross-sectional index involving all business categories and focusing on gender equality. (PDF 282 KB)
