Intesa Sanpaolo presents the new exhibition “JEFF WALL. PHOTOGRAPHS” at the Gallerie d’Italia – Turin, dedicated to one of the most influential contemporary photographic artists.

Featuring 27 works, the exhibition traces Wall’s most significant photographs, from the 1980s to his latest pieces from 2023, revealing the layers behind their creation. Displayed at life size, his images are among the most iconic in contemporary art.

Working over long periods and using digital technologies, Wall creates complex photographic tableaux through a process similar to filmmaking. The result is an “almost” documentary style, where everyday scenes take shape through meticulous composition.

In his pursuit of an art rooted in everyday life, Wall (Vancouver, 1946) explores every facet of contemporary society: themes such as nature, war, gender, race, and class permeate his work, also influenced by literature and cinema — particularly Italian Neorealism, with its interplay of ordinary life and drama.

With the exhibition dedicated to Jeff Wall, Intesa Sanpaolo reaffirms the identity of the Gallerie d’Italia as an open space for the city, offering opportunities to engage with and explore the work of leading figures in international art.

The exhibition is curated by David Campany, writer, art critic and Creative Director of the International Center of Photography in New York.

The museum in Turin, together with those in Milan, Naples and Vicenza, is part of the Gallerie d’Italia museum project by Intesa Sanpaolo.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 9 October to 1 February 2026. For more information, visit the Gallerie d’Italia website.
