The autobiographical work of Jess T. Dugan at the Gallerie d'Italia - Milan
16 May 2025
Intesa Sanpaolo opens to the public at its museum in the Gallerie d'Italia - Milan the exhibition “Jess T. Dugan. Look at me like you love me”.
Curated by Renata Ferri, the exhibition draws attention to one of the most powerful and complex forms of intimacy: that of seeing and being seen.
The exhibition is the result of an autobiographical work of American artist Jess T. Dugan, leading the viewer into a community of bodies and faces, gestures and gazes, to reflect on the themes of desire, loneliness and relationships, and how these experiences shape each of our identity.
On display are 30 works - mainly large-format photographic portraits - five of which are completely new, and two videos.
The exhibition opens to the public on the occasion of the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia and is designed and organised with Intesa Sanpaolo's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion structure and in collaboration with ISPROUD, the Bank's LGBTQ+ Community.
The work of Jess T. Dugan (USA, 1986) explores themes of identity, sexuality, gender, relationships and community through photography, video and writing. Jess T. Dugan’s works are part of the permanent collections of more than fifty museums.
The exhibition site of Milan, along with those of Turin, Naples and Vicenza – is part of Intesa Sanpaolo's Gallerie d’Italia museum project.
Open to the public from 17 May to 19 October 2025. For more information, please visit the Gallerie d'Italia website.
