For the sixth consecutive year Intesa Sanpaolo has been confirmed in the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) 2023, a thematic index on gender equality that includes 484 companies out of more than 11,500 companies listed on the world's major stock exchanges examined.

Among the main quantitative and qualitative criteria considered for inclusion are:

  • staff composition
  • gender distribution in leadership roles
  • work-life balance initiatives
  • policies in support of a gender-equal working environment
  • financial products specifically aimed at women.

For Intesa Sanpaolo, this is yet another acknowledgement of its ESG commitment in terms of diversity and inclusion: it is the number-one bank in Europe, number-two in the world and the only Italian bank among the 100 most inclusive and diversity-conscious workplaces according to the Refinitiv Global Diversity and Inclusion Index 2022; it was among the first in Europe to obtain GEEIS-Diversity certification and the first major Italian banking group to be awarded the gender equality certification provided for in the NRRP.

Through its Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) Structure, Intesa Sanpaolo values diversity and promotes inclusion as essential components of the Group's growth and the development of its people strategy.

Furthermore, in order to enhance and promote gender equality among its customers, Intesa Sanpaolo has developed products such as S-Loan Diversity, which use KPIs to enhance and promote gender equality and the socioeconomic role of women.
