Part of the “Banca del Tempo” permits, made available by the Group pursuant to the agreement of 7 October 2015, is used to enable colleagues who wish to participate during the working week in "voluntary Corporate" initiatives, promoted in favour of external bodies/associations selected by Banca Prossima and the Intesa Sanpaolo Onlus Foundation.
In 2018, several initiatives involving 397 colleagues - many of them at their first volunteer experience - were organized, which offered their contribution to different associations, of secular and religious inspiration, in Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin, Parma, Florence and Muggiò (MB) and oriented towards interventions for the benefit of the people and the environment, with diversified purposes throughout the territory (e.g. the distribution of food for the needy, solidarity gardens, the selection of clothing for the poor, assistance to the disabled, protection of the environment).
A total of 2,926 hours of leave were granted.
Also in 2018, thanks to the enthusiasm of colleagues and the willingness of the Bank, "Corporate Volunteering" will be one of the most important objectives of the “Banca del Tempo”, a qualifying element of the system of conciliation of the life-work balance in Intesa Sanpaolo.
Several International Subsidiaries have created and promoted corporate volunteer programs in which employees paid by the bank have made available to the community their time, their resources and expertise.
Among the initiatives, Banca Intesa Beograd launched in 2013 the program "Intesa from the Heart", which includes volunteering projects and initiatives carried out by the Bank independently or in partnership with civil society organisations.
Since 2011 CIB Bank has been a strategic partner of the Hungarian Association Food Bank, contributing every year to the "National Food Collection Weekend", the most important national program of collection and distribution of food in favour of families in difficult conditions.
Also Intesa Sanpaolo Bank Albania employees collaborated with the Albanian Food Bank and collected products that have been destined for a social canteen that distributes food to 200 people.
In Croatia, Privredna Banka Zagreb launched the "PBZ volunteers" program to provide direct assistance to people in need, in collaboration with local institutions. The Bank authorized a day of paid leave for each day of volunteering.
