Intesa Sanpaolo presents the exhibition “Riccardo Ghilardi. Piano sequenza la Mole” at Gallerie d’Italia – Turin, in collaboration with the National Museum of Cinema.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the National Museum of Cinema in Turin, the exhibition is curated by Domenico De Gaetano and features 42 photographic works by Riccardo Ghilardi, telling the story of cinema from its origins to the present day as a long take.

The project involved nationally and internationally renowned actors and directors. In the images on display, the Mole Antonelliana (one of Turin’s most recognisable monuments, hosting the National Museum of Cinema) is transformed into a vast film set representing cinema – a place where dreams can become reality – with the photographs capturing how each artist experienced it.

The National Museum of Cinema is one of the world’s most significant film museums in terms of its collections, diverse programming and spectacular setting within the Mole Antonelliana, a symbol of the city of Turin.

Italian actress Giovanna Mezzogiorno, who portrays Maria Adriana Prolo – founder of the National Museum of Cinema – in the project, is also the narrator of the behind-the-scenes documentary screened as part of the exhibition. The entire photographic and narrative project is published in the book Il Tempio del Cinema, by Allemandi.

Gallerie d’Italia – Turin is dedicated to photography and video art and, along with the museums in Milan, Naples and Vicenza, forms part of Intesa Sanpaolo’s Gallerie d’Italia museum network.

Open to the public from 12 November 2025 to 1 March 2026. For more information, visit the Gallerie d’Italia website.
