The human side of data: Giorgia Lupi’s vision on show in Vicenza
29 April 2026
Intesa Sanpaolo opens to the public at the Gallerie d’Italia – Vicenza the exhibition “Giorgia Lupi. Data Humanism”, the first solo show in Italy by Giorgia Lupi, partner at Pentagram. The exhibition explores Data Humanism as a key to interpreting data, experiences and contemporary relationships.
Giorgia Lupi is one of the leading figures in contemporary data visualization, and the exhibition - curated by Associazione Illustri - highlights how numbers, patterns and visualizations can become stories capable of expressing both personal and collective experiences, transforming complexity into understanding.
The exhibition journey: from iconic projects to contemporary research
The exhibition path presents some of Giorgia Lupi’s most significant works, creating a dialogue between the individual dimension and global phenomena. Featured projects include:
- “Dear Data”, part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art
- “Bruises”, intertwining clinical data and personal experiences
- “1,374 Days: My Life with Long Covid”, awarded the Compasso d’Oro 2025
- “The Room of Change” and “Inequalities”, focusing on environmental and social transformations
Alongside these works, sketchbooks and research materials are presented to the public for the first time, documenting the artist’s creative process, based on hand drawing and analog experimentation.
An interactive section dedicated to artificial intelligence invites visitors to contribute with marks, thoughts and drawings, transforming the exhibition into a shared space for reflection on the relationship between technology, creativity and empathy.
