Intesa Sanpaolo is the first Italian “green” group and thirteenth in the worldwide ranking of the top 100 greenest groups in the world, according to the classification published by Newsweek.

Intesa Sanpaolo wins 1^st Award Innovation ICT at SMAU 2010 in the Human Resources category with Aula+, project designed and implemented by Training Department, aimed at enhancing the learning experience. The award, established by the Osservatorio Smau-Politecnico, was assigned to Italian companies and government entities that have successfully innovated their business through digital technology.

The Group wins the first edition of Premio Energy 2020 in the Demetra category. This award was established in occasion of the 10th Italian Energy Summit Il Sole 24 Ore, with the objective of recognising companies for the most significant projects in the field of energy.

Intesa Sanpaolo is the first bank to obtain UNI CEI EN ISO 16001 certification with respect to the Energy Management System for 180 sites (branches and buildings). This recognition is added to the UNI ISO 14001 SGA certification obtained in 2005.

During the annual Green Globe Banking Conference entitled "Banche, Società e Mercato: il Green Banking come motore della ripresa" (Banks, Companies and the Market: Green Banking as the engine for recovery) Intesa Sanpaolo obtained the First Special Award for Direct Impacts, with the project “Gestione integrata degli impatti diretti dell’attività bancaria in filiali e palazzi di Intesa Sanpaolo” (Integrated management of the direct impacts of banking in branches and buildings of Intesa Sanpaolo), replicating the victory of 2008 and the confirmation (2nd place) achieved in 2009.

During the eighth edition of the Sodalitas Social Award, Fondazione Sodalitas assigns the special “Paladini dell’ambiente” (Environmental champions) award to organisations that stand out for their commitment to making a concrete contribution to blocking the greenhouse effect, fighting climate change and improving the quality of life. Our bank is part of this registry, thanks to initiatives that have enabled us to participate in the protection of the environment for some time now.

Intesa Sanpaolo receives special mention in the category “Best Management”, as part of the Premio Impresa Ambiente (Environment Enterprise Award) and Premio Progetti Sostenibili e Green Public Procurement 2010 (Sustainable Projects and Green Public Procurement 2010 Award).

For the third year running, Intesa Sanpaolo is voted as the ideal work place, according to the results of the annual “Recent Graduate Survey”, commissioned by Cesop Communication to IpoStat, independent research institute. The survey examined 138 companies and evaluated the expectations of recent graduates on the labour market, their preferences and their objectives with respect to companies.

An international coalition of investors from 13 countries (including Aviva Investor, Boston Common and Nordea Investment Funds) analyses the “Communication on Progress” of the member companies of UN Global Compact, adding Intesa Sanpaolo to the 44 leaders in reporting on sustainability.
