Bank of the year in Italy - The Banker

The Banker's "Bank of the Year" award recognizes the world’s leading institutions and its rigorous and analytical selection process stands out for independence, authority and integrity.

Intesa Sanpaolo stood out for its role in supporting Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, providing more than €400 billion in new lending to the real economy, including €270 billion for businesses and €145 billion for households. In this context, the bank is providing around €150 billion for households, communities and inclusion; €75 billion for the circular economy and green transition; and €60 billion for infrastructure, transportation and urban regeneration. A renewed commitment to being a world-leading social impact bank, providing contributions of €500 million to support people in need and a project to provide 8,000 social housing units for young people and seniors, one of Italy’s largest social housing programs, as detailed in the Group’s 2022-2025 Business Plan.

It is the research that evaluate the quality of communication and transparency on the digital channels of the main European companies listed on the stock exchange, evaluated with reference to the institutional website.

Intesa Sanpaolo moved from 19th place in 2021 to 16th place in the general ranking, obtaining the recognition of Top Performer Europe Banks & Financial Services for its ability to communicate in a clear and transparent way, in particular in Sustainability and HR.

World's Most Socially Responsible Banks 2022 - Newsweek and Statista
 

Intesa Sanpaolo is the first banking group in the euro area and twelfth globally among the 175 most socially responsible banks according to the ranking realized by the American newspaper Newsweek and Statista, one of the leading economic research companies in the world. The analysis, conducted between November 2021 and January 2022, is based on two parameters: public data from 750 banks in 35 countries on the 30 KPIs of the three ESG pillars, including those specific to the banking sector, and the sustainability reputation based on of a large survey of 45,000 customers.

"2022 Sustainable Banking Revenues Ranking" - Corporate Knights - The Banker
 

Intesa Sanpaolo ranked first in terms of Total Sustainable Revenue Rank and fourth in terms of Sustainable Revenue Ratio Rank. The ranking took into consideration the NZBA member banks that provided a response regarding data relating to their sustainable products.

ESG Reporting Award

Intesa Sanpaolo ranks second, and the only Italian bank, in the world ranking ESG Reporting Awards 2022 in the category dedicated to sustainability reporting in the financial sector (Banking).

Integrated Governance Index - IGI

Intesa Sanpaolo was included in the Integrated Governance Index (IGI) among the Top Performers ESG Identity. IGI is an indicator of the company's ESG Identity. This year a subdivision of the participants was developed according to four levels of ESG identity development: "Top Performer", "Leader", "Conscious" and "Builder": 19 of the 86 companies analyzed were Top Performers.

Sustainable Finance Award 2022 - Global Finance

Intesa Sanpaolo was awarded the Sustainable Finance Award 2022 by Global Finance for its leadership in Italy. The US-based industry magazine Global Finance awarded financial institutions in 63 different countries that stand out for their commitment to financing initiatives to mitigate the impact of climate change.

VUB Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo’s subsidiary bank in Slovakia, was also awarded Global Finance’s Sustainable Finance Award 2022 as the leading institution in Slovakia.

Evaluation criteria for the Sustainable Finance Awards 2022 included governance policies and goals as well as measurable achievements in environmental and social sustainability financing.

MF Innovation Award 2022

The S-Loan offer, the SKILLS4ESG training program and the Intesa Sanpaolo Reward App received, in their respective areas of competence, the MF Innovation Award 2022, organized by Milano Finanza in collaboration with Accenture.

S-Loan ranks first in the Loans to business customers category. These are the Sustainability Linked Loans with which Intesa Sanpaolo accompanies SMEs in the process of improving their sustainability profile, rewarding the achievement of specific ESG objectives. Since the launch of the offer, 1.7 billion euros have been disbursed throughout the country.

Skills4ESG, in first place in the Twin Product category, is an articulated training program aimed at developing the awareness and skills of SMEs on ESG issues through a portal, a single access point to online content in the catalog, advanced training courses, training one-to-one, multi-company workshops, news and success stories.

The Intesa Sanpaolo Reward App, ranked first in the Non-Financial Services category, is a digital platform for engaging customers and potential customers through fun.

AIFIn Financial Innovation – Italian Awards

Intesa Sanpaolo ranked first in the CSR and Sustainability category, thanks to the Formula Project and third in the same category with the ISP4ESG Program: Intesa Sanpaolo for ESG project. It is also in third place in the Special Award "Innovative Financial Institution of the year 2021".
The AIFIn award on financial innovation is a point of reference for the sector both because the innovative projects they have nominated are the object of evaluation of the innovativeness of financial institutions and because the evaluation process, after an initial macro selection carried out by representatives of the institutions organizers, entrusts to an independent external jury, made up of university professors, the determination of the winning projects of the category.

S&P Global Sustainability Award Bronze Class 2022

Intesa Sanpaolo has been confirmed in S&P Global's Sustainability Yearbook 2022, receiving the Sustainability Award Bronze Class 2022. The Sustainability Yearbook publishes the annual ranking of the world's most sustainable companies.

S&P Global is the company that evaluates companies for their inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices annually.

Top Employer 2022

Top Employers Institute, a global body certifying excellence in the HR field, has recognized Intesa Sanpaolo as Top Employer 2022.
In 2021 the Group participated in a complex certification program, with an in-depth assessment of HR practices through an HR Best Practices Survey. Being Top Employer 2022 allows Intesa Sanpaolo to be recognized globally as an innovative company at the forefront of HR issues, attentive to the well-being of its employees and attractiveness to the best talents on the job market.

Global 100 - Corporate Knights

In the annual ranking drawn up by Corporate Knights, Intesa Sanpaolo has been included among the 100 most sustainable companies in the world, which make up the Corporate Knights Global 100 Index in USD. Almost 7,000 companies were evaluated compared to 23 indicators that analyze, among others, the issues relating to environmental sustainability, human resources, gender equality, revenues from green goods and services, commitment to sustainability.
